Londen, midden jaren zestig. Het aantal Britten dat zich sterk maakte voor een tegencultuur groeide in rap tempo. Het was tijd voor culturele en maatschappelijke veranderingen. Met name de International Times – het boegbeeld van de ondergrondse pers – en de UFO Club waren blikvangers van de nieuwe subcultuur. De huisband van de UFO Club in 1967 was Pink Floyd. Het kwartet was in 1965 opgericht en had in 1966 met name in Londen een flinke aanhang en entourage opgebouwd.
