Als we heel eerlijk zijn is Rival Sons het beste bewijs dat uw recensent geen voorspellende gaven heeft. Tien jaar geleden voorspelde ik een gouden toekomst voor Rival Sons. Alle ingrediënten voor succes waren ruimschoots aanwezig; een zanger met een geweldige stem, een swingende en solide ritmesectie, een fijne gitarist en lekkere grooves. De band speelde zalen plat en speelde voor grote aantallen bezoekers in het voorprogramma van Guns N’ Roses, Rolling Stones en Black Sabbath. In al die jaren nooit een negatieve review van een show of album gezien en toch staan ze eind dit jaar weer gewoon in de Melkweg en niet in Afas Live of de Ziggo...
