We leven in een tijdsgewricht waarin zeker de artiesten die al flink wat jaren meegaan zich in een steeds lastiger spagaat moeten werken. Want de voornaamste doelgroep is ook een dagje ouder geworden en het voornaamste deel daarvan interesseert zich niet zozeer voor nieuwe muziek. Dit terwijl die artiesten zelf zich ook in de studio willen blijven ontplooien en nieuw werk willen blijven maken. Ook Pet Shop Boys bevindt zich in die spagaat. Want het Britse synthpopduo staat in juni in een uitverkochte AFAS Live met hun Dreamworld Greatest Hits Tour, de tournee waarmee ze al sinds mei 2022 op pad zijn (deze deed eerder dezelfde locatie al eens aan)...
