Peter Astor maakt al veertig jaar prachtige gitaarluisterliedjes die minimaal opgepakt worden. Toch kiest hij ervoor om samen met een bescheiden sterrenteam bestaande uit drummer Ian Button, bassist Andy Lewis, gitarist Wilson Neil Scott en toetsenist Sean Read een aantal hiervan nu op Tall Stories & New Religions te bundelen. Niet dat hij hiermee een groot publiek zal bereiken, maar meer vanwege het feit dan deze het verdienen om gedocumenteerd te worden. In het observerende sensueel ritmische On Top Above the Driver belicht hij als buitenstaander het schrijfproces en blikt hier met volle tevredenheid op terug. Hij mag hoe dan ook trots op zijn kindertjes zijn, soms is het koesteren...
