Er zijn van die bands waarbij je vooraf niet weet wat je kan verwachten als ze een album uitbrengen. Of de beluistering dan goed of slecht uitvalt, is dan uiteindelijk niet zo heel erg. Want het is het avontuur dat telt, de ontdekkingstocht. The Flaming Lips zijn zo’n band. Het door verstrooide professor Wayne Coyne geleide gezelschap heeft evenzoveel prachtplaten als creatieve uitglijers op haar naam staan. Met King’s Mouth blijken ze ineens akelig neutraal uit de hoek te komen. King’s Mouth verscheen in april van dit jaar al als Record Store Day exclusive. Nu is het album ook voor de massa verkrijgbaar. De band heeft ook een gelijknamige kunstinstallatie...
