Aan het begin van de eenentwintigste eeuw baarde Radiohead opzien met de albums Kid A en Amnesiac. De twee albums zaaiden echter ook het nodige onbegrip, zeker onder hen die Radiohead nog steeds als een gitaarband zagen. Door de jaren heen zouden die eerste twee Radiohead albums van de nieuwe eeuw echter meer en meer aanzien krijgen. En 21 jaar na de lancering van Kid A is er nu het retrospectief Kid A Mnesia. Het debuutalbum van Radiohead, Pablo Honey, viel binnen de opstomende indierock en Britpop nog niet zo erg op in 1993, ook al werden de singles Anyone Can Play Guitar en natuurlijk vooral Creep door velen omarmd.
