Het rasperige, de wendbaarheid, het kunnen variëren in wat hij zingt. Maar steeds is ie er weer, die ongelooflijk fijne en rakende stem van Paolo Nutini. Volksstammen zullen van de Schot vooral een nieuw album hebben verwacht waarop hij zichzelf en zijn fans een lol zou doen met weer een paar radiogeschikte nummers. Weet je wel, prima om te streamen, makkelijk én door als je het zat bent. Dat door als je het zat bent, dat is misschien wel wat Paolo in gedachten had, maar dat begon pas te tellen na zestien nummers en pakweg zeventig minuten.
