Robin Kester brak de afgelopen jaren door met haar tweede ep, This Is Not a Democracy. De mix van dromerige pop, elektronica en milde psychedelica trok ook de aandacht in het buitenland. Kester en band stonden bijvoorbeeld vorig jaar op festival SXSW. Eerder dit jaar probeerde Kester de songs van dit nieuwe album uit tijdens een try-out in Leiden. Dat werd een genietbare kennismaking in kleine kring. Nu is het tijd voor het grote publiek. Honeycomb Shades; de titel draagt iets zoets en donkers in zich. Dit is ook zeker van toepassing op de muziek van dit debuutalbum. Het royale aantal singles dat voorafging aan het album lieten al horen...
