Vijf jaar na zijn opzienbarende debuutalbum Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa komt Jeremy Dutcher met een in vele opzichten nog indrukwekkendere opvolger. Motewolonuwok is een album waarop zijn muzikale talenten nog beter tot uiting komen. In 2018 schreven we al over het fenomenale talent van Jeremy. Een live optreden in Montreal bracht ons gelijk in hoger sferen. Het verhaal van collega Dick nodigt mij gelijk uit om op zoek te gaan naar het album. Het blijkt een daverende ontdekking. Door zijn eigen culturele achtergrond – zijn moeder is Tobique First Nation – gecombineerd met een onderzoeksproject voor het Canadian Museum Of History komt hij in aanraking met unieke geluidsopnames van zijn voorouders vastgelegd...
