Het plaatwerk van Public Image Limited (PiL) is sinds de terugkeer aan het releasefront in 2012 vrij spaarzaam gebleven. End of World is het derde album in elf jaar tijd. Net als de voorgangers This-Is en What the World Needs Now is het echter ook weer een prima plaat die zeker niet hoeft onder te doen voor een aantal albums uit de jaren tachtig en negentig. Lydon en band blijven qua opwinding en intensiteit nog ver verwijderd van hun eerste jaren maar het luistervoer dat wordt geserveerd is zeker onderhoudend.
